A premier pre-holiday wine & beer tasting event!
This Washington Restaurant Association-Spokane Chapter festival featured nearly 50 wineries and microbreweries, wonderful hors d’oeuvres prepared by the Inland Northwest Culinary Academy, live music, and a discount wine store.
Celebrating 20 years! Sample hundreds of wines, handcrafted beers & spirits from the Northwest region and beyond. Hors d’oeuvres prepared by Chef Curtis Smith and the Inland Northwest Culinary Academy. Wine sold at discounted prices. Live music with the Martini Brothers!

Red Lion at the Park was host to our annual Awards Gala & Silent Auction on Tuesday, March 26th. Our Silent Auction was a big success, and all enjoyed Tim O’Doherty of O’Doherty’s Irish Grille as our master of ceremonies. Thank you to Chef Don Rey for the wonderful Irish meal and to Louis Huang of Prodigy Arrow for the Irish mood music and special effects. Shadle Park High School sent a lively bagpiper and drummer to add to the festive evening. Chapter Chair Erin Miller has one more year on her two-year term.
Criteria: Industry leaders who exemplify service to customers, food quality, cleanliness and overall appearance, integrity in dealing with suppliers, participation in the WRA, and community involvement.

2013 Employee of the Year awards:
Criteria: Front of the House – exemplary service to their customers and to their employer in the dining area, bar, lounge or lobby of a hospitality industry establishment. Back of the House – exceptional service to his/her employer and their guests as a result, in the Back of the House.
Front of the House Employee – Danette Malcolm, Pizza Rita
Back of the House Employee – Chef Brian Hartnett, Twigs Bistro & Martini Bar/ Wandermere
Criteria: Responsibility to customers, service to the hospitality industry, association participation and community participation.
Supplier Company of the Year: Franz Bakery
Supplier Representative of the Year: John Yamada, Ecolab
Lifetime Achievement Award
Presented to Gary Sutter, Food & Beverage Director at Northern Quest Resort & Casino – for nearly 40 years serving the hospitality industry.
ProStart Mentor of the Year
Chef Barry Matthews of Steam Plant Grill was honored as ProStart High School Culinary & Restaurant Management Mentor of the Year.
